WTF , 1.4 crashes more than 1.3 did

Guys

Are you getting CTD at all on 1.4 . I have had three over the last day and they have been a lot quicker then if i ever got them with 1.3 .

I had a pause on 1.3 and then it would crash , usualy when i had joined a server .

1.4 has crashed 3 times in the last day and at anytime in the game WTF .

Has anyone else had this ?

not played BF2 for over a month due to CTD now 1.4 is here WHOOO HOOO

WHOOO HOOOO FANTASTIc no crashes in 3 days at all every one of my clan members reporting the same and we all think its running smoother loveing it but then only play inf only NO vehicals :laugh: life is good

i used to have terrable problems with 1.3 crashing, ever since 1.4 came out(whcih i downloaded and isnatlled the incremental about 2 hours after it had been released) ive done about 19 hours of playing, joining many different servers, and ive had absolutly no problems with it, i guess im one of the lucky ones

I think you might be the exception rather than the rule. I've had (touch wood) not a single crash and not s single server disconnect since 1.4.

5 hours of straight gaming on ranked (64) servers last night and only had 1 connection stall.

Got CTD with 1.4. I uninstalled and clean reinstall with 1.4 full. Got CTD even in the intro movies. The problem was zone alarm firewall. Dont know why. Bf2 had persmision to connect and the firewall dindnt ask for anything. It just ctd. After uninstalling it everything is ok. Look for an antivirus or something that you have running in the background. Maybe that is the cause for them.

Not even a single crash or network error.
Try to install the full patch if you didn´t allready.

I've had a few "Your connection to the server has been lost" pop up boxes, but I haven't CTD with 1.4. Also, my connection problem was happening before 1.4 so I'm not blaming 1.4 for causing that.

Got CTD with 1.4. I uninstalled and clean reinstall with 1.4 full. Got CTD even in the intro movies. The problem was zone alarm firewall. Dont know why. Bf2 had persmision to connect and the firewall dindnt ask for anything. It just ctd. After uninstalling it everything is ok. Look for an antivirus or something that you have running in the background. Maybe that is the cause for them.

That's interesting. When BF2 first runs it does all sorts of stuff like getting your stats, scanning your favs, etc and maybe there's an untrapped error where, if one of those fails then under certain circumstances it crashes out. Another maybe, does Zone Alarm monitor for file signiture changes? So, if there was a port open for 1.3 then the bf2.exe fiel changes, would that hole still work it would Zone Alarm notice the change and block it?

It happen the second time starting it after 1.4 full. Dont know why since this weekend CTD got constant. Uninstalling zone alarm was the only thing that fix it. After the clean reinstall of bf2 with 1.4 full and got that CTD in the intro movie, I know it had to be something else. Even changed the router and put the modem directly, disabled avast and other background programs. Zone Alarm was the only one that after removing it, the CTD stopped.
