    AusArena admin abuse?

I was just on an AusArena Jalalabad/Sharqi/Karkand server. As the server loads it tells you "No Attacking uncaps in Vehicles/Jets!!".

Now I was on the MEC side on Jalalabad and we were getting beaten as tends to happen. So I took a Vodnik up to thier uncappable bailed out, blew up thier UAV and took cover behind the little next to the UAV because someone was shooting at me in a tank. Now the tank just behind me happens to spawn so I jump in and destroy the enemy tank and get blown up as well. Next thing I know I've been kicked for 'attacking uncaps'. Am I not allowed to defend myself while on the enemy base or is this admin abuse?

I know people are going to tell me to find a different server and I will but I still want to know if this is an abuse of power or if they can do this.

Well that was two insightful responses. How did I break the rules? Is defending yourself from an enemy tank really classed as attacking an uncap with a vehicle? It wasn't like I hung around in it. If I had survived the battle I would have driven off but I got blown up with the enemy tank.

You can't make a rule that disallows blowing up assets, so this is admin abuse. You can make rules that don't allow attacking the uncaps, but this cannot interfere with spec ops going in to blow up assets.

We have this rule on our server as well, but unless they're spawn camping the uncap I typically let them get killed or otherwise run out of the base.

Despite it being in violation of the ROE, good luck getting anything done about it. Like you said, you just have to find a server that isn't being admined by power crazed children.

That would be my opinion on the matter too. I wasn't planning to try and get anything done about it I simply wont go back to thier servers.

I thought I would post up the exact quote from the ROE that deals with this since everyone before me thought the admins were right:

These rules typically introduce minor restrictions on how a certain aspect of the game can be used.

Examples of such rules that are acceptable are:

              (a) Players may not use explicit, offensive or racist language in-game.

              (b) Players may not impersonate clan members or other server administrators.

              (c) Players may not deliberately performing actions that hinder their own team (such as last-minute team-swapping to increase scores or statistics, excessive team-killing, destroying friendly vehicles, attacking team-mates,

deliberately placing themselves in a situation so they cause another player to team-kill them, using a vehicle while being the Commander that prevents them from performing any Commander functions (jet, etc.) or placing vehicles to block their own runways.

              (d) Making attacks on enemy main bases (flags that cannot be captured), including artillery strikes, vehicle drops to block runways, bombing runs with aircraft or sustained infantry attacks. (Note that specific attacks targeting the enemy commander’s asset buildings are always allowed, even if they are within the enemy main base.)
This was hardly a sustained infantry attack and he was attacking the assets.
