BF2 installation help

After months of playing BF2 this stupid 1.4 patch does me in and refused to load maps right (after I tried to connect to a server after the first night with 1.4 it just gave me a grey screen for the rest of the program's run time). Then I decided to reinstall BF2 so I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall which brings me to my question...

After about 4-7 bars of loading it gives me an error box with "Failed to install Battlefield 2, try again from the beginning." Is there any way I can fix this?

try deleting all reg files
click start then run type regedit
goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Electronic Arts/EA GAMES
and then delete the BF2 folders

also goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Electronic Arts/EA CORE/INSTALLED GAMES
and delete the BF2-2006 folder

also delete the battlefield2 folder in my documents

restart and see if u can install now

is the disk scratched up?
cause thats i porblem ive had with other games.

Amazingly it really dosen't but it could use some cleaning I guess, I'll try it.

heh turns out it had a blotch on it or something. Finally installed, thanks for the help.
