mic boost turns off when bf opens

Mic boost turns off when BF2 opens up...

Does anyone know how to find the appropriate windows file and make it a read only file?

Thanks, I have fixed this before, but I dont know what file it was.

XP, fresh format,AC97, yeah thats, all you need to know I think...

Woo! I'm getting it to, I thought I was the only one because I came out of a fresh format. Maybe it's the 1.4 patch?

I'm also using Onboard AC97 sound.

yea i get it. it has stopped with bf2 now. but 2142 it has started again. when i run it it will turn off the mic boost.

Happens to me too when I use my sound card's mic input.

I use my USB mic though most of the time and it doesn't affect that at all.

Don't turn on Mic Boost on BF2! It MUST be off!
Instead do this:
Control Panel->Sound and Audio Devices->Advanced (on Device Volume);
Options->Properties->Recording and mark Microphone and OK;
Advanced and mark "Microphone Boost" and OK.

That doesn't fix it for me... but I found a fix for myself
in audio settings in BF2 the game... check the mic boost option.

I dont seem to rermember this box being there before... but now with the 1.4 patch i see it nonetheless.

I just turned on the micboost as per usual in the mic settings and load up bf2 and click the mic boost in the game itself and the problem is fixed..

If you need more help, ask, If Im not clear enough, because I typed this out quickly, ask, ill re explain...

I had the same problem, to solve it it I turned off VOIP. I have had no problems since.
