    Instant lock-on with AA

Just asking. The other night i was flying on several maps and this one guy kept shooting me down. The weird thing was that he was always getting an instant lock-on with the missiles = no short beeps for warning before the actual lock-on.

There's away to do it ovbiously so any of u flying aces care to tell how it's done? Couldn't find it with the search

Edit:Oops.. i need to specify that he shot me down with another jets AA-missiles

I've had a couple times where I get no tone, although I do see the red skull, and all of a sudden I'm down to 1/2 health.

Maybe he was shooting at a chopper or something and the missile veered off and hit you.

I've seen this happen multiple times. Especially on Kubra dam--if I'm in the F-18 shooting at say the MiG and he happens to be chasing the F-15 using missiles would just be asking for teamkills.

kubra dam is a well known map for teamkills by planes.. so it cloud been happening to you too.. same problem on that map is the 2 seaterplanes.. you lock a ground target.. shoot at it and you hit an other targer nearby...

I know but i dont think this was the case
(unless he really developed a skill of doing that on purpose).

He did it on 2 maps for 3 rounds in a row and killed me like that about 15 times. Usually simultaneously with the lock sound i'd start seeing his cannon fire fly past so he definately was on my tail and aiming at me just about every time.

In the end i could tell whenever it was him shooting at me cos any other threat always gave me the warning beeps but he didin't.

Well im not sure if this is the case, but it's something i read and now do without fail, and kinda explains what happens to you. Its really simple, you simply switch to land targets, so you can be right on someones *** and when you switch to air targets, the missles can be fired almost blindly, and you gots a kill. With this i could not give a $*it if your in an J-10, your still toast.

One of the tricks, when you don't have a target lock, most of the time people will pay scant attention if they all of a sudden lose a little armour, because, hey, "at least no one is behind me". Thing is, just with that little armour lost, just one missile will get you flaming, so out of six shots, i only gotta land one. This is because you can fire small concise rounds that dont betray your position, but takes that small little chunk of armour you need to finish the job.

To the target pilot, all he gets is about 2 seconds of flurry, and then he is dead.

This can apply to the anit air tank as well. Simply dipping your aim to the ground, and waiting for a plane to scream right over the top, the pilot is only going to hear the minimum seconds of warning and by that time, those missles are tap tap tapping on your engine.

                Hope that helps.
