Colony2142 makes me want to stop flying.

I'm [CMx]Bigstuff and I have to say you are THE best pilot I have EVER come across, EVER. Nobody even comes close, I thought I was good. I recently started a list of the top 100 pilots in Bf2, and I managed to shoot down the #6 pilot Sackjeseech with the F35 while he was in a J-10. This was incredible, I thought man I really am as good as I think I am.

Then my clanmate [CMx]JamesJC tells me about this colony guy and goes on and on about how this guy is incredible and that he usually plays at night. So I get on tonight and he's in my server. So I'm real excited thinking yep, this will be a walk in the park, he's not even ranked in the top 10 just #22.

Once I manage to finally find myself in the Mig29, I take off and begin searching for this pilot. Now he's probably 15-0 at this point, so I'm thinking, my best streak is 44, and I can usually get 40 kills a round this guys can't be THAT good.

And thats when it happend, I saw my health going down, and I heard the missle warning and before I had time to react to what was happening I was already blown up and waiting to respawn.

So I thought, lucky fluke, got lucky with the guns, had all of them register.
I get up again, and I'm going to skip to the good part.(The good part comes after 3 or so more repeats of Health going down and Boom) I did manage to get away from one of his volleys of missles only to be hawked down.

The Good Part= I get behind him, and I lay into him with my guns, and I manage to land a missle on him, so I noobishly fire all of my remaining missles at him and of course he dodges all of them, and we were at such a high altitude that it is hard for the pilot to actually dogfight at that height, 700+ But that is what separates the good pilots from the Aces. Colony can dogfight at 700 Ft, I can only turn hard and climb and hope to get away. Well what happened? I flew out of bounds, and blaming it on the x52, and how he had the F18, which I'm finding isn't as invulnerable as I thought it was.

Colony I want you to come back to our 24/7 kubra server, its not even full of noobs, we had Sweetback on there too, but I assume colony scared him away. I know I was a bit shaken after that. I would like to face you F18 vs Mig though. I know its not a huge difference but I think I am a little better in that plane.

I told you to post here to challenge the better pilots since none of them post at GFAQs. Colony is one of the ones I was telling you about.

Colony was the first pilot I met that didn't bother using missiles on me. I'm nowhere near a good pilot, and this was early into my flying career and I thought that that was what the good pilots did.

Only after flying for much longer have I come to appreciate how hard it is to blow someone up in just a couple of seconds using only cannons. Consistently. It's damn hard. I don't think I've had anyone do it to me since.

Colony is still listed as my worst enemy, lawl.

No offense Bigstuff, but after 100+ hours in a jet and only having a K/D ratio of around 4. i would'nt rate myslef so highly. :|:

Jet's themselves aren't skill based in BF2, try LOMAC or IL2.

You can be a good pilot with a high sensitivity, as per the tank glitch etc with super high reflexes.

Mrbenis I think the jet does require skill.. More skill than on infantry/tanks etc. I mean dogfighting and the manouvres..

Don't. You don't want to make this a matter of "being a good pilot is harder than being a good infantryman". The best infantry guys out there will laugh and laugh and shoot you in the nuts.

The F-18 is just about as tough to shoot down with missiles as a J-10. With a simple barrel roll you can dodge 90%+ of all missiles launched at you. Missiles that with otherwise shoot down most other aircraft in the game. It's simple really because when you're against an aircraft that because of the handling/mesh dodges missiles you're stuck using cannons to score a kill on them and unless your target is a complete idiot or you're extremely skilled you won't be shooting them down period. Using cannons against other aircraft is an art without a doubt as you have to give those rounds a ton of lead against an evasive pilot but again it's mostly a pilot skill gap that creates these easy cannon kills. Fact is dogfighting is only a shadow of what it used to be and is yet another aspect of this game that DICE has dumbed down to make it more accessible for the newbies.
