Noobish Video Card Question???

I have 3 out puts on the back of my video card, one is the blue Monitor plug, the other is S-Video, and the other kind of looks like a monitor plug but its white and my video card came with and adapter that plugs into that and I can run my monitor off that.

1) What is that plug?

1) Is that white plug if you want dual monitors? If its not for dual monitors, is it better to us that plug than the regular blue monitor one?

DVI(Digital Visual Interface) is what the white input thing is. This is not for dual monitors unless u have two http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVI

Very useful information. I have a Flat Panel LCD Screen 17" so would I see better picture by using the DVI plug?

not for dual monitor ? dont think so. i have a 6600GT and also with DVI. just put the plug on it and you can run dual monitor.

Well out of curiosity, I plug my flat screen into the DVI plug and it seems to be alot crispier of an image. the DVI is a digital output that works well with flat screens, if you click the link it tells you all about it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVI DVT output is have more pixels.

Hmm, seems no one answered your second question. The answer is there is a difference, just that you would never notice it.

The answer given about what that port is was correct by supermario05. Its a DVI plug. The blue one, its called an analogue plug, basically all CRT monitors (normal monitors) use the analogue plug, and most cheap 17 lcd's as well. Thing is, you could just as easily use the adaptor you spoke of and use the DVI port. It won't harm anything, but you wont gain anything either ie a better looking picture. And as the last post said, if wanted, you could use both to have a dual screen setup.

DVI > VGA and i believe u get better response times so things move alot clearer
