    STUDDERING isue

if i play signle player i can easily crank all settings and run perfectly smooth.. but once i join a server i studder every second to 2 seconds nonstop and sometimes get booted for "connection problem" even though i have a steady ping around 40 and ive tried dropping all settings to low turning of VOIP ,turning off all other programs and PB to 500 but nothing seams to help. if anyone knows what might fix this please let me know

wow i must say i am very supprised that installing that dual core driver helped.. altho i still have no idea why the the processor would hang up so drasticly in multyplayer at the lowest possible settings and run like butter on single.. oh well.. thats alot for the fix m8. you may have saved my computer from an extensice verbal and phyical bashing

Do your frames drop for a few seconds and make it look like a slide show? I get that now with 1.4.

Yeah, I had some really crappy lag/stuttering - even though FPS looked OK and ping was OK. But after much swearing and tantrums, here's how I solved my problem:-

                Installed 1.4
Went online - crappy lag...... ( :hmm: )
Re-installed Graphics Card driver (actually used latest drivers from Nvidia website).
                Cleaned BF video cache
Played a locally hosted game to optimise local BF2 video cache.
Went online and 'hey presto' game now runs smooth. ( :) )

Hope this helps peeps. (oh this was using a AGPx8 Geforce 6800 GT card)

How do you clean the BF video cache?

Go into your documents, click on bf2 then mods then cache under bf2 and also in xpack...leave the cache folder but delete everything inside of them. Once you launch the game again you'll probably have to resetup your video settings and go through optimizing shaders for both sf and vanilla.

I have the same studdering problems and i downloaded the new nvidia drivers yesterday. But I still have the same problem. Could it also be the intel dual core processor which is giving problems?!? Maybe someone has a good hardware monitoring tip... so I can search the problem. Patch 1.3 didn't had these problems
