Patching 1.4beta2 to 1.4: impossible?

Hi guys, I got a problem.. I have 1.4beta2 installed, and can't uninstall it because I have no back-up. So I installed the full 1.4 patch, but I still can't play on normal servers.. :hmm: BF2 says "your version is older then server's version" for any server. Does anyone know whether patching 1.4beta2 directly to 1.4 is even possible?

I had beta2 and d/l'ed the full version and was able to install, but then couldn't find any servers.

I deleted my now patched 1.4 and copied over the 1.3 backup. Installed, worked fine.

Moral of the story....you should have made a backup.

d/l full version and reinstall.
