From another thread (=WTE=benbean):
I also downloaded the file that you guys uploaded to Filecloud yesterday at 11:51am EST. I also applied the patch with no problem, but saw the same thing in my server browser: only one server, & it was 1.4 beta2. Only too late did I realize that I downloaded an incorrect file, & now may have to do a full re-installation because the wrong file was uploaded to Filecloud by someone on your staff. The incorrect file generated an md5 hash of: 59c24093d05f90afbb20aa65799bd32a
I haven't tried to download again from your Filecloud site, but I see now that the file listed on that page has a new upload time of 2:40pm. I'm assuming that you guys realized that you'd uploaded the wrong file, but I haven't seen any postings telling anyone about it. I'd think the community would appreciate a warning as such. I know I now have to re-upload the incremental patch to our site, & warn my team in vain hopes that no one already downloaded & applied the incorrect patch yesterday.
I now know that I can't just go on good faith on any TotalBF2 files at Filecloud, & will most definitely be running anything I may download in the future through md5, as I obviously should have been from the beginning. I just hope that I can run the correct incremental patch over my current installation, instead of having to resort to a full game re-install. :|:
I had the crash on load problem.
A reboot of the PC fixed that.
Searching on the game browser only came up with 1 server that was listed as 1.4 beta 2.
My game version is now 1.1.2925-757.0
This was from a patch labled BF2_Incremental_Patch_1.3_-_1.4 downloaded from filecloud.
I'm now downloading from EADownloader and will attempt to reapply the patch I get from there.
TBC...
Edit: ... I can't reinstall this patch as the game version needs to be 1.3.
Reinstall and download the full patch then.
