Fix to "connecting to account server" long waiting time

I noticed that I had to wait longer for the game to connect to the account server with each start of BF2. Recently I would have to wait about 30 seconds for it to connect. I found a fix to my problem, it will probably help you as well. Now connecting to the account server takes less than 5 seconds.

It seems that whenever you connect to the account server, the game connects to all the servers in you servers history list to check for the map, ping etc. This is just a theory, after all refreshing the server history doesn't take that much time, but it looks like the problem is there.

I opened my \Documents and Settings\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001\General.con and ereased all the servers that I don't regularily play on, which were in my server history. The lines you should be looking for look like this:

    GeneralSettings.addServerHistory "xxx.xx.xx.xx" xxxxxx "ServerName" xxxx

Simply delete all those that you do not play on. I left only one - my clan server and as I said - the game connects to the account server about 6 times faster.

I don't know whether it's also possible to delete thos servers from the in-game browser, but I find deleting them from the file easier (drag&select; delete).

Hope this helps a few people.
