Well, the obvious and only conclusion to this total trashing of what was originally a reasonably solid game is that DICE Canada just blow.
They have time to make and then reverse unwanted changes (unlocks for unranked).
They have time to make unneeded trivial additions like vehicle drops (which were so obviously going to be abused and exploited), visible UAV etc.
They have time to tweak the most insignificant and obscure problem in the game (terrain damage to muscle car).
They have time to add a new legitimised stat padding mode (IO) in forfeit of older tried and tested game modes (CTF, Push).
Yet they have no time for a single one of the good ideas suggested in the now closed suggestions forum (pilot class to clean up tk's and airfield, fix for friendly vs. friendly collision blame detection, fix for J10 ...).
An incompetent attempt at fixing the zombie "problem" that will leave kits lying everywhere for an attacking enemy to replenish themselves (they even knew about this in beta).
Only hours into 1.4 and we have admins reporting over 5 crashes on the same server already.
Is this some sort of EA pisstake, or social engineering experiment or what? Are we all just puppets in some elaborate scam that is researching our patience, or suicidal tendencies perhaps?
I'm a patient man, and I'm not averse to writing a long rant, but really, this has just got to be the most monumental case study of how to fukk with your customer base that I have ever seen. I'm almost ranted out, and that EA is really quite something.
