1.4 Help!!!!!!

I wanna try this new patch and see if it lives up to the hype, so installed the FULL patch and it CTDs when i start the game, whats going on? If EA/DICE didnt fix the bad stuff in bf2 i will throw bf2 away, Bf2s a great game it just needs some help! So please help me and tell me how to fix this! And i fear the worst, i might have to reinstall bf2 and SF! I dont wanna do that!

if you had the 1.4 beta installed, you will need to do a fresh reinstall

you cant patch over it

you cant patch over it

yes you can i patched over and it went fine. Took a minute to install and ran smoothly

If u previously had 1.3, then u had to install the 1.4 incremental for the patch to work. If u installed the full 1.4 over the full 1.3, u must uninstall everything and reinstall it. Unless u made a copy of your Bf2 directory, before installing the 1.4 patch.

GG thanks DiCE/EA, I am sure they really care about all those people out there that have SF, EF, AF and BF2v installed...and have to they have to download EF and AF because they did not supply the media. GG all.

move your battlefield 2 directory in documents and settings to the desktop and try again
If that doesnt work try disabling DEP or BF2( google it )

I wouldn't recommend patching over 1.4 beta with 1.4 full myself.

I ran some md5 checks and it turned out not to patch the following :

AIDLL.dll , BF2.exe , BF2Audio.dll , BF2VoipServer.dll , CoreDLL.dll , Memory.dll , Common_client.zip , Common_server.zip , Fonts_client.zip , init.con , menu_client.zip , Objects_client.zip , Objects_server.zip , std_archive.md5 , 
PCRegExp.dll , stats.py , ReadmeServer.txt , SwiffPlayer.dll , TextureAtlasBuilder.dll.

You're going to want to reinstall vBF2 and then 1.4Full unless you welcome problems.

I had 1 bf2 folder and the full 1.3 patch, i did the full 1.4 patch without a problem ok there was nothing wrong with it.
