Choppy Play

Hello...i'm looking for some advice here on what is causing this bad game play experience. I have a P4 2.4GHz, 768 MB Ram, and an ATI Radon9700...the game play has been near un-bearable although the demo was very playable. I have all graphic settings on medium...any thoughts?

First get another gig of ram. Try low settings or get a new card(I'm very happy with my 7600 gt overclocked, and i run all high)

try decreasing some of the settings down to low and see how you get on, i use to have a barton 2600 1gb of ram and a 6600gt and could only run on med settins :P

1.4 is a bit choppy, the framerates are the same though. But there is that constant stuttering and disturbances.

Bf2 will never be 1.0 again in terms of performance, it's already f*cked.

It's most likely a lack of RAM. Even though it says 512mb is the required amount, you really need 1GB to play and more like 2GB to enjoy the game. The game is just eating up your page file and when the hard drive has to be used for memory the game stutters because it's not nearly as fast as RAM (not sure if I'm telling you something you already know or not).

Turning your settings down, or getting more RAM are about the only two fixes that I can see for your problem.

Just lower some settings, play around with them. Change them till you get no frameloss, and it is as pretty as possible.

For less than a hundred dollars from Newegg you can get a 6800 OC... This will help make a huge difference. Ram might be helpful. Other than a those two things, or a new pc, you should try the already mentioned dumbing down of the settings for a little boost in performance.

I was running a 7800GT with 1G of ram and had to keep most of the settings to low to keep fps high enough to make it enjoyable. It was not until I upgraded to 2G of ram that I can play at any setting with high enough fps.

Same here. I played with most on medium and geometry on high. No AA or AF. I would get horrible stutter during arty or any kind of intense firefight. I was also taking 10 minutes to load the next map. I got another 2GB (2x1GB dual channel) for a total of 3GB which was overkill but I get no more stutter and I'm almost always the first or second person to load into a map. If I were you I would upgrade to 2GB or 1.768GB and your problem will almost certainly dissappear.

turn off dynamic ligting and shadows, and put ur AA off too.....that should fix it.....keep the rest at medium
