The FileFront download link takes me to the page where you can upload file to their site.

Hmm.

All of these download sites could simply be getting ready for thursday...

They've got release dates of 9/5/06, so I doubt it.

My servers already updated , and my daemon client too.

They wouldnt leave me hangin' for 2/3 days !!!!!!!!!

Well I have tried to access it from filefront and this is what is showing up.

If you look it does show that 4 people have managed to download it. There is a guy on EA forums claiming to have managed it when it first showed up.

EA sends word they are gearing up to release the version 1.4 patch for Battlefield 2 today. Here are the patch notes for the update to DICE's military shooter sequel:

GAMEPLAY TWEAKS

- The vehicle drop has been modified to help prevent exploits such as blocking
enemy vehicles, destroying vehicles and commander assets, or as an alternative
to artillery.
- C4 tossing distance has been reduced.
- A prone->crouch delay has been added.

BUG FIXES

- Fixed the Linux server hangs when trying to load a Special Forces Co-Op map.
- Another attempt at fixing the Red/Blue nametag bug.
- Fixed the missing server info on the map briefing screen.
- Fixed the server browser issues with updating info.
- Fixed the filter by maps size option in the server browser.
- Fixed a low reproducibility crash bug related to the vehicle drop.
- Fixed a crash in Co-op after a player is revived without a kit.
- Fixed a server crash on Linux 32 when trying to rotate maps in Coop Mode.
- Fixed the occasionnal red distance marker appearing on the ground.
- Fixed the bug that caused the player's arms to become invisible when switching weapons.
- Co-Op bot console commands now function on local servers.
- Fixed the excessive damage taken by the Muscle Car.
- Adjusted the minimum number of players to start the round on ranked servers.
The new values for 16, 32 and 64 players are 6, 8 and 8 respectively.
- Re-enabled unlocks on unranked servers.
- Commander options are no longer available whilst commander is dead.
- Fixed bug where a spawn point is shown as selected when it is not if player has spawned in during the preview round.
- Co-Op (Local Server) - Fixed the issue where no other players may join the server if the server host is kicked and banned.
- Ranked Servers now force unlocks.
- Added support for multiple gamemodes in single maplist for mods .

It was annouced by an EA guy on the EA forums last week, i will loook around for the link

or a quickfix that solves the bugs generated by 1.4 lol.. jk ... gimme tha patch now !!!!!!!

it has to come out today

loads of sites put it up at the same time
they cant not have any servers running 1.3 untill thursday or next week

Nuh, I reckon that would be very unfair. The trusted server providers have to behave themselves too so I doubt they'd go ahead without EA's blessing. I reckon that's the most concrete proof we have that it's today.

Yes, if you happen to get right in there the instance they created the entry, there is a chance that some people were able to download the file before it was 'locked'. We're probably talking about a margin of seconds here...

We're really waiting for the links to be 'open'.

It could be a disgruntled EA employee seeking revenge by stirring the community up. Imagine how pissed off some people will get when it turns out that its not going to be out today...

As for not being available on FileFront anymore, it could have been disabled cause it wasnt a true release it would backup my comment about a disgruntled EA employee... im sure there are pleanty of them there :P

I've found that patches are usually released between 10 and 11 am EST...but that's just from past experience.
