How to do install POE 2?

I dled it, extracted it. Which one am I supposed to install first? poe.1.0.exe or the map pack? why are there two separate things for me to install? and why isn't there a readme manual or something? when i tried to install poe.1.0.exe it gave me a message saying "error, cannot write mycomp/prog/ea/battlefield2/mod/poe" or some sh1t like that. do u need admin rights on ur computer to install this?

EDIT: nvm, it turns out that i needed admin rights to start it. kthxbai.

Go easy on him....he is afterall downloading your mod .

I just wish some people would actually read the readme files or numerous "how-to's" spread across the web.

Just run the .exe file. That other file is used by the installer when you run it. Reason for there being two files is so that people wanting to burn the mod to CD's can do that (one file per disk).

You have to unpack both files before installing, and place them in same folder.

Hate to dig up an old thread, but im having the same problem. I ran the .exe file, but it syas it needs the map pack in a certain temporary file. Everytime I extract the .cab file, the .exe file dissappears. I dont understand what is going on.

extract BOTH files to your desktop, run the exe.

thats all it takes.

you cannot install from within the zip, you cannot install if both of the files are not next to each other.

The fact that you now need:

v1.00 client
AND v1.1.5 client patch
AND the latest map pack

is not explained or linked to from the POE2 main page.
Who updates that page? It needs to be made clearer.
