Is the barrel roll effective for dodging jet fire?

I want your opinion on whether doing a barrel roll in a helicopter is effective for dodging the jet gun, if you have a better way share it with me.

The best is to start moving!, REAL FAST, turn right/ left and throttle it out!

Heli's obviously have an amazing turning radius, use it to the advantage,
To tell u guys the truth, in my 5 hours in a heli, i have been shot down my a plane around 2 times max! the rest *mumbles and swears* TUNGUSKA! and the AA emplacements!

TBH it takes a very skilled and determined jet pilot to down me in a chopper and I'm very average as an Attack Helicopter pilot

It's just some freaks I play with sneak up on me and take me down in seconds and I need to stop this :p

Ah.. that must be when they follow you in bomb mode. If you ever have a gunner, who you speak to on TEAMSPEAK or Xfire, tell him not to stay in gunner mode, or TV mode all the time!

Make sure he uses the rear view cam and look around every 10 seconds or so!

also spot enemy jets as often as you see them, you may think he is going to ignore you as he whizzes past only to crack you one in the *** a few secs later, even if your inf, always spot hostile air.

That's more of a gunners job though spotting jets, you just need to be aware I guess.

barrel rolling is effective for dodging jet fire, just gotta make sure the enemy dont sneak up on you and kill you in half a second

you can see how hard it is to hit a heli when you fly a jet. they release flares and all your missiles miss, and by the time you turn around to have another go they have reloaded again

^ true once again, Heli flare reload is very fast, even a j10's turning radius + speed will igve u time to reload.

but that isnt the topic, we are talking bout the machine gun.
increasing throttle and gaining height usually puts pilots off!

I shoot them down when they barrel roll though.. I personally do front flips and back flaps and just fly away by using the camera modes.

the barrel roll - in my experience - is effective but it must be combined with other aerobactic manuveurs such as a split-S if the opposition is a good pilot or has a missile lock on you
