pointless bf2142 rant

I install the 2142 BETA and the game runs like complete ****.

So, I play BF2 and oh my god it takes FOREVER to verify client data and when it does load I get INSANE LAG like ive never experienced before. I have to ALT+F4 or ctrl alt delete to get out its ****ing insane.

Is my video card about to die on me? Or is it this 2142 BETA that has ****ed me up. What should I do? (currently defragging).

System specs: 6800GT / Pentium 3Ghz / and 4 x 512MB of RAM.

No , i am having more and more lag lately and i didnt install the 2142 b. I asked around on a couple of servers and a lot of people were lagging to.

At first i thought my new internet connection was the problem. But it seems that more people are dealing with this .

I already did a re-install and it didnt work . POE2 seems to run just fine by the way , and i did a game of SF earlier and i had no problems at all (except for the usual bugs of course) .

Its just whenever i try to play BF2 i get these lags (ping = 30-ish)when i get into action and its extremely aggravating . I sure hope 1.4 fixes this .

I highly doubt it has anything to do with your computer. I have been playing the 2142 beta for acouple days now and have experienced the same thing. (and so have other people I have been playing) For some reason, the first 5 minutes or so that I play are EXTREMELY laggy, but then the lag goes away and the game runs very smoothly. I would try to play the game for awhile and see if the lag improves. Good Luck!

Edit: I am running everything on the HIGHEST preformance level.

No, im getting the same thing. The BETA runs like **** on LOW and its now made my BF2 run like ****. Im lagging wit low pings :/

BF2142 BETA runs fine for me.

Might I suggest you post in the Hardware/performance section of the official BF2142 beta forums?

Or quit the beta if you hate it so much..

I was getting the same problem running on low. Tried to run the betta at all settings and combos of 800x600 1024x768 with different settings in texture and so on.. found a good balance 800x600 everything else at medium no AA

checked my frames (renderer.drawfps 1) and I was getting like 55 but it would not dip below 35 even with a bunch of $hit on screen all other settings I was in the 20's.

Dont tell me I know I need to upgrade but my wife wont let me she hates the BF series and now with POE...well you know the rest.
