Punkbuster Error : Disallowed Program/Driver

Please help! I haven't played BF2 for months and just when I want to with my bro, we can't play more than 5 minutes without being kicked by PB.

This is the error I get: Punkbuster Error : Disallowed Program/Driver (81165)
FYI I am a 30yo gamer and I have never hacked a game. I have tried manually updating PB without success.

So far I have spent 2 hours trying to get BF going, with 10 mins of playing! Thanks for any suggestions.

#8xxxx is to do with Gamehacks, perhaps a complete reinstall might help,

If you mean disallowed program/driver 81165, then its the alternate BF2 ranking client that is causing the error, it's a cracked client at the moment.

PB listed it as a disallowed program which kicks you instead of a gamehack which would ban you. Once the alternate BF2 ranking client is corrected, the new version will be allowed again.

Go back to your pre-alternate BF2 ranking client bf2.exe and you will not get pb kicked anymore.
