I was playing singleplayer on Kubra Dam 64 and shot on an mec Tank with an us apc
after I destoyed it it said i killed him with an 25MM CANNON

What weapon is this I have never seen it before

It's a rare glitch that has nothing to do with editing localization files.

I played the Unlocks mod from FFOLKES but this was the first time it said 25mm cannon and i have destroyed many tanks before

Yeah, the amount of times ive shot someone with an Eryx and it appears as "Funkh [J-10] Lolowned"

This usually happens because the guy bails out, the J-10 explodes and you get a kill indirectly (Road Kill)

The other one occurs in some rare and unknown occasions:

That'd be funny as hell if you killed someone with the M-4 or G36 and it said "5.56MM." I'm sure that'd cause all kinds of confusion.

i think this errors occure cause of the Localization files, if you open them you'll see a lot of Radio and Text/Kill Messages that DICE actually never implemented in the final Version of BF2 like "Marking Target with Laser" or "player x (Stinger) Playxer y" and so on......

If it is uncommon, that would mean the same as rare. To say it is not uncommon, would imply that it is NOT rare.

Someone said to me a while ago that the actual gun names on vehicles appear if you shoot someone, then bail out before the bullet hits them. It's the same thing as if you run over someone with a car and bail out before you hit them; it will say 'Killed' and not the vehicle name.

I only started noticing that right after 1.22, and it was more obvious to me after 1.3. This must not be the case because I've been in a FAV after dropping mines, and like 5 minutes later it give me a FAV kill and I know that a mine exploded.
