BF2... The Italian Sports Car Of Games
Yep.. We all know about the idiots that join servers and TK because you happen to be near them and have the balls to move. Yes the game freezes up at times. And CTD's sh*t me to tears too... 
But when you join a server (finally) and have a few good rounds with VOIP working well and a squad that works well as a team - nothing beats that winning feeling..
which brings me to my metaphor.. Italian sports cars are notorious for breaking down for no reason and then suddenly working again. They need coaxing in urban traffic in case the clutch overheats. Lambo's I've heard have a clutch action so heavy that you need legs like Lance Armstrong to work it.
They chew through fuel and tyres.. They cost a fortune to buy, run and insure... So why do people buy them? Because when it works, it's dreamy..
Same with this game.
I too ranted and whinged about BF2142 coming out when BF2 has problems still, but I've still pre-ordered 2142.. So what if BF2 doesn't ALWAYS work? when it does, it's astoundingly addictive and immensely fun to play..
So please, for the love of God/Allah/Budda/Pentium (whatever you worship), follow in my footsteps...
If BF2 is having a shocker of a time to load a map, go outside for a run, or just do something else.
If you are on a team of non-team working bstds, just go lone-wolf sniper on the other team and enjoy picking off the little fckers that didn't give you ammo or revive you before..
And finally, if you don't want to buy Battlefield 2142 - don't.. But please don't start eleventybillion threads on a thousand different forums saying how you are boycotting the whole company. They couldn't give a rats ***.
Sorry, but it's true.. People will buy the new game, and most of them (I'm sure) will enjoy playing it. So, find a game you enjoy and play it.
