We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.

when i start playing bf2 everything works fine then after i play for about 5min the sound stutters then just doesnt respond even if i close bf2 it still affects my system. no other game is currently affecting my system this way and it only occurs while playing bf2 ????:hmm:

Wow, that's a strange one.
BF2 does tax system components pretty hard (video, sound and RAM mostly, I'd imagine).
Have you done the routine things like update the card's drivers? Also, are you running the latest version of directX? I just updated my directX a few days ago. That's where I'd start.
To help determine whether the card's about to break (hardware failure), try placing the card in a different slot and see if the problem returns. This will also force the computer to allocate new memory addresses and interrupts for the card (though there's a chance it may assign the exact same ones it had before).
Lastly, if you have onboard sound or a cheap replacement card, try to recreate the problem with either of those. If you can't it may be that the card's about to die.

if all else fails, download pci latency tool, google it.
dload and raise/lower latency for your sound card entry to see what improves it.
