I see guys flying helicopters in circles while keeping the front of the copter pointing at a stationary object. How do you do this? I presume I need to configure my joystick differently. Thanks!

Re: What's the best joystick configuration for a Helicopter?
I would like to know this as well... I have a heck of a time hitting anything. I am new to flying in BF2, but would consider myself a vet in BFV and BF42... I just can't seem to get the hang of the physics. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. -
Re: What's the best joystick configuration for a Helicopter?
It took me a while to figure out how to do it. Once you figure it out, it's not that hard. On a side note, I fly helicopters with the keyboard and mouse, so I can't say how to do it with a joystick.
The way I do it is tilt the chopper to the right so you start to strafe right then then hold the left rudder down and play with the throttle to help determine how large of a circle you want to do.
(this performs a counterclockwise circle around whatever you want)
hopefully this helps. Can be a little difficult to explainComment

Are you talking about a tornado Spins? well I think you change your sensitvity and such. But no 1 uses a joystick for a helicopter thats just plain hard and stupid....(for me. i use my joystick for jet) Just put in about 100 hours of helicopter time in and you will be good. I have a 120....Comment

I use a stick for the helo, everyone told me m/kb was easier but after using the stick I cant get used to the m/kb setup
and I got a HUUUUUGE comp desk, I dont have to move anything as I am right handed the j/s sits just to the right of my kb, it feels more comfortable that wayComment
