i just noticed as i was looking on a globe and saw oman and even gulf of oman now correct me if im wrong but isnt that supposed to be a fictitious place.

I can't personally verify this, but I don't see any reason why we should think these locations are ficticious.

IMO they are all real locations but the names are fictitous. like shrarqi penninsula, it seems to be a real place but evidently is not called "sharqi penninsula".

yeah, another example is Dalian Plant.. there is an actual coastal city named Dalian in China that looks very similar geographically speaking to the BF2 map; not sure if there is a real nuclear plant located there tho (probably not)

Most of them do not exist but are based on actual places. I doubt they took actual buildings and placed them in the correct spots and the same with roads.

Oh no doubt the only connection to the places is in name. If EA took the time to recreate these locales accurately they could have taken the time to work out some of those bugs.

Based off real places but in oman there is no place that looks like like the bf2 map. WAke island is close to being realistic.
