    How to get latest drivers

    Hey there,

    I'm not such a wizzard when it comes to ugrading drivers, so I've got a question about it.
    I've got an ATI Radeon X600 card and want the latest drivers to go with it. I've been looking around on ATI's webpage, but I can't really figure out what is the latest version, let alone where I can download it.

    In Catalyst Control Center on my pc I can see the following:

    Driver Packaging Version: 8.263-060607 a-033678C-ATI
    CATALYST version: 06.6
    2D driver version: 6.14.10.6618
    Direct3D version: 6.14.10.0407
    OpenGL version: 6.14.10.5885
    Catalyst ontrol center version: 1.2.2349.28584

    Does this mean I'm up to date and if not, where can I download the latest?

      I just went onto the ATI website and managed to download Catalyst and the latest drivers. The latest release is 6.8.

      after reading the ATI website you have to remove all ATI software and remove a programme called DAO, then install the new driver.

      I didnt find this information to difficult to come by, but here is the link then you can read up yourself etc :

      Re Above post I forgot to say the link will bring you to the first page of the knowledge base, just click the:
      1: Windows XP drivers ----->
      2:RADEON
      3: You should now see Catalyst 6.8 etc
      Click this and scroll down the page for a list of downnload options !!

          Thanks for the info!

          I wasn't sure if this would be what I needed and ATI tends to get a bit too technical for a pc-noob like me...

          Downloaded and installed it, and I notice that in Catalyst Control center all drivers as mentioned above are now of a higher version. So guess it worked out! Did't manually delete any files though, this happened automatically during the installation proces.
