What is the native resolution of your LCD or are you using an external CRT? If you're using the LCD it would be best to use the native res if possible.

does that help?
If you can play in 1024x768 with vertical black bars at the sides (i.e. display is not stretched to fit the wide screen) then I would do that instead of 800x600. If BF2 supported 1280x800 then I would say use that. It's generally best use an LCD at its maximum resolution. Some LCD panels do the scaling better than others but not as well as a CRT.

I play at 800x600 2xAA and decided to see if I could improve frames and look with 1024x768 No AA. I used FRAPS and found my performance was aroud 10fps lower with 1024x768 No AA. Also I like the softer look with AA, much easier on the eyes so I'm staying with 800x600 2xAA. I also tried the NVIDIA 91.47 drivers, the AA was not as smooth, so went back to 91.31 drivers. My card is pretty old, it's a 5900Ultra 256mb.
