Start up a server?

Hey guys, I'm looking for a couple of dedicated gamers that would like to start up, run, and help fund a Ranked Battlefield 2 server, and perhaps switch to 2142 when it's released. I've got 2 other guys right now who would like to help out. I'm not looking for some crazy clan thing, just a gaming community who likes to get together and have a good time gaming. you might wanna say where you'll be hosting this server (ie germany, uk, east coast....)

Good call, I'd like to have it be an American hosted server. I've actually operated a bunch of other ones (CS:S, COD, Q3) and I seem to get the best ping for everybody at a Chicago location. It's right in mid-america, and a ping from New Jersey (My location), is very similar to somebody from California.

Usually its 32 slots for most servers. Unless u want 64 4 some extreme karkland gaming :)

I would definitely start with a 32-man server and possibly work from there. Honestly it depends on the amount of guys onboard. Right now I have 2 others, and myself. Clanservers.net (I've had some great experiances with their hosting and prices), is charging 95.95 a month for a 32 man ranked server. With a 50 man voice server, it'll bring it up to a hundred, so right now it's about 33 a month. One more will drop it to 25, etc...

I'm totally open to map-cycles, mods, whatever. We can discuss it and decide as a group.

I've also got domain rights to a few names, and I'd definitely be willing to pay for a forum host so we can get some professional looking forums up for the server.

I have a buddy that also might be interested in doing this too. I'll let you know what he thinks.
