It's not just the recorder but also where you're recording that is going to cause you lag issues. For any of my videos I pretty much *have* to be recording to a secondary drive otherwise the game sputters whenever a new texture or overgrowth is being loaded. When I switched to using a secondary drive I had no issues whatsoever even with recording on pretty high quality. I use an external drive for recording my videos if that makes any difference.
