  • How should I compress my videos for youtube?

So when I make a Fraps video it is very huge. I have tried compressing it with Windows Movie Maker (after some editing) but when I upload it to youbtube the quality gets a lot worse Wich copress option should I shoose? Can I edit with WMM and compress with Vegas? Should I use googlevideo instead of Youtube?

Youtube description says that I should use 320x240 videos. Great than it should be the "512 broadband" and for best quality "High Quality with variable bitrate (PAL)" Right?

I think once you upload a video to youtube no matter what quality you give them, its going to be reduced in quality quite a bit so that they can save bandwidth.

I crunch my videos in the maximum quality possible output.

The only thing I care about for Youtube is 100 mb in size final and less than 10 minutes.

It usually comes out and uploads as a .WMV running top quality.

What I actually see on youtube is marginally acceptable.

Going to get a bigger camera with Optical Zoom and much bigger resolution than the old DV tape can do.

I already compress a 15 gigabyte file down to a few hundred meg, from there I compress again.

Images of a trash can, beer and junk food wrappers....

Make an account with google .. they allow movies over 100mb with a special uploader tool. The quality is a little higher and if the folks view with the google player which is downloadable its better again.

Compair.......I know its not Youtube but it will show the differance.

                Then view here

Then download from same google page

                Hope this helps ya
