BF2 crashing to desktop.

I know ea has FAQ's for this but I recently reformatted and installed the nvidia 84.21 drivers and installed bf2, bf2:sf, and the 1.3 full patch. Whenever I launch the game it goes to the black screen flickers for a bit and goes back to the desktop with no error or anything. Could someone help me please fix this problem.

Computer Specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
ASUS A8N5X
2GB Corsair VS RAM
e-Geforce 7600GT

Hmm.. I had this problem when I have a bad video card. In your case you should be able to run the game ? I would have left it alone in the first place. But did you try reinstalling the game ?

the CTDs have gotten A LOT more common for me recently. i cant even play a full session anymore i get horrible lag and BAM back to desktop. Imade no changes or anythng just 1.3 getting worse and worse. and i reinstalled 3 times already.

Yeah it has been happening to me also. I play and than the game sometimes freezes on me. I hope the v1.4 Patch will help out a lot and sort the problems out before I start breaking the CD :evil:

Haha, yep.. I had a bad video card and it didint load anything at all it went all black and went down. Bought a video card and baby it worked xD

all the sudden i get you have lost connection to the server every time now.. can't even play 30 seconds.. I've reinstalled like 4 times now.. I'm done till 1.4 comes out.. my other computer was infected with this issue now mine is.. i'm so pissed at this game
