how do the two games compare as I love BF2 to death and day of defeat looks pretty similar gameplay wise

wow that looks pretty cool. I reckon BF2 graphics will still be better though as Im not keen on source graphics. Now a modern combat mod on call of duty2 would rock

DOD:S is pretty different. The squadwork in DOD:S is more along the lines of Counter-Strike, while BF2 is more large based.

I agree ,Bf2 is a lot better game.

dod:s has no vehicles, and imo dod 1.3 is better. I use to play 1.3 all the time and when I finally got a new comp., bought bf2 and really haven't gone back. Like the other poster, insurgency looks like it will kick some butt. I'm really looking forward to that mod.

The other drawback with DoD is you always spawn back at the start. If you advance a ways into enemy territory grabbing flags and you die you go all the way back to the beginning. I thought that sucked the most. DoD is not a bad game but BF2 has so much more to it. The squads, the teamwork, the spawn points (SL's and flags) that get you closer to the front lines, and the overall look and feel is better IMO.

I only played the free weekend they had a while ago so I don't know if I played all the levels but what I did play didn't impress me a great deal.

Same here. I wish I could find those audio 'trailers' they released last year, does anyone still have them?

As for BF2 vs DOD:S, DOD:S is a lot of fun, but you can't compare the two.
