  • POE maps you would like to see??

    Ok, this is simply a forum to post map location and design idea's....now that we have played POE2 what other type of maps would you like to see in the ame? Example below...

    I would like to see a map that is at the edge of a large city. With an advancing for moiving into the suburbs of a that city...

    I would definitly like to see a large defend the bridge type of map kind of an Arnhem
    situation.

    Also a "Black Forest" convoy type of map allot of pines and narrow passages.

    I hope as new levels are developed new armies would be added such as France,Poland,and the UK.

    Hmmm, I like the idea of a suburban type map... not quite an urban setting, but close.

    I've always liked "stealth" type maps... where one team has a spawn point off in lala land and has to work thier way up to cap point -by river or on foot, very limited vehicles to start with (until they cap points), except thier only starting point is capable... Rather evil, but fun

    Peace,
    Tim

      Re: POE maps you would like to see??

      Something like a mixture bewteen Chicago and New York.

      I envision a large city with high structure, with a large park in the middle and a train/subway yard at the outskits.....with a sewer system.

      The map can be divided into 4 parts.

      ++++++
      PART 1
      ++++++
      To the West, you have the Train/subway yard. Essentially an open space where vehicles can vie for control while the parked trains create corridors for hectic engagements. This area should be no larger than the combine of the 3 uncaps at Karkand. Of course, the yard would have to have wrecked trains in them.

      The train yard sits at a lower level then the ajoining street level to the East. The yard is has a bit of hill/crest/troughes of its own, but it is 1 floor lower lower than the ajoining boulevard. The transition to the street level is through:

      1) A small warehouse with a drive through loading area. (Note this is only about 1/2 floor lower than the boulevard.)

      2) A destroyed train station. (This area is a full 1 floor lower than the boulevard above, which from at the train station, looks a bit like an overpass.

      3) A subway tunnel, which leads to the sewers.

      There should be a Helo pad here, constructed next to a Barn/Garage in the NW corner.

      ++++++
      PART 2
      ++++++
      The Train yard leads to a dramatic stretch of tall office/Apartments which are partially detroyed in the image of COD1, only taller. The 3-4 city blocks are actually (from N to S):

      1) The TV station at Sharqi. (facing the train yard side) with a gas station on its backside (facing the park)

      2) The hotel gulf of Oman (facing the train yard), with 1/3 of it blown away, exposing a stairwell which makes the floors accessible. On the backside is the central portion of the palace from warload, which we can call "city hall".

      3) The parking lot from Warlord, this should take up the whole block.

      All of the above are sided by 2 lane boulevards on the East/West and a single lane dividing the blocks North/South. The buildings, if they are back to back, will hav a very narrow alley between them, no wider than the one in Ghosttown behind the very tall hotel.

      All 3 of the above are blocks in a line. 1 corner of buildings should flank the park on its norther side. This can be made up of the buidings from the hill at Mashtuur. A cross the street, further east is the construction yard from Oman including the crane.

      +++++++
      PART 3
      +++++++
      The park at the center would have a boulevard into it, cutting it in 1/2. At the center would be an Arch ala "Arch de Triophe" of Paris (only smaller).

      The park should also have a small pavilion like recreation area with a pool in the south with at least 1 sewer outlet in the south. (which is connected to the Subway tunnel at the station back in Part 1).

      There can be a subway station in the northern portion of the park, across the street from the "Building from the hill in Mashtuur". This is essentially an above ground opening with a stairway to a train platform underneath. the station should be connected to the sewer in the south.

      This another open area for vehicle engagement.

      ++++++
      PART 4
      ++++++
      The Park is in a "L" shape, with 3 blocks forming the NE to E portion of the map. These 3 blocks will are (from N to S)

      1) The 2 floor building from Hotel in Mashturr with the ground floor away from the flag converted to 1 room deep store fronts....... kinda like what you see at Bazaars in Hong Kong. Some of which can be connected by 1 doorway.

      2) Gas station from highway to hell, with an optional water tower. There should be a sewer exit here.

      3) Suburban homes from "Highway to hell", back to back grouped into a suburban block.

      All of these are separated by a 1 lane roads, across the street is a large bill board with a small 2 story structure like the beach house at Sharqi, with a helo pad.

      ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++
      ================================================== =======
      ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++

      I dunno if this is making an sense, or if this is feasable. Essentially, there are 3 open areas:

      1) Train Yard
      2) Park
      3) Area E of the suburb.

      Separated by 2 build up areas.

      1) The 3 city blocks.
      2) The 3 suburban blocks.

      With 2 routes that are inaccessible to vehicles.
      1) Sewers
      2) The construction yard in the north.

          Possibly like a forrest where you could hide behind trees and lay in bushes and stuff and snipe or AT a tank or something incoming. Possibly you have to defend a base or something.

            A couple more infantry type maps would be nice or ones were there are only light vehicals.
