Funny you can tell the people that are new to the Battlefield series all being like I don’t like mods, blah, mods don’t have stats, etc etc....

Little do they know it was a mod that spawned what BF2 is today...silly silly noobies....

PoE2 is the roxorz PERIOD (albeit I can't wait for DC)

Quite frankly I am glad a lot of these people aren’t going to come and ruin mods like they did BF2 ...

The real gamers play mods the stat whore 12 year old wanna be punk *** bitches play only ranked....Open up your horizons people get more bang for your buck mods are free :)

Now that isnt to say I will never play BF2/SF/EF/AF ranked or not, just it is going to take a lot longer now for me to rank up...hehehe

A lot of people are just tired of playing BF2, and there is no new content from DICE other than what you have to pay for.

most of us wanted DC part 2 when we bought BF2. DC released new content all the time, so it stayed fresh. DICE should have take a lesson from that, to avoid btitterness. I think BF2 is a great game, and POE2 is trhe best MOD out, so far.

THey are they same game to me, just a different version of the same game. I just wish ther was either new free content from DICE, or more support for the MODs so they came out faster. Bring me my DCON, now!!!!

In the end, DICE will win more long term friends if they handle thier games like this, and we would all buy every title they make. Thats called loyalty, and my loyalty is still with the Guys who made DC. Thats why I will be buying, playing, and supporting Frontlines War as soon as it comes out. TOTAL\Frontlines war should be your next concept MyIS should run with as well.

About the topic, BF2 stills has the edge, but I dont see how it could be any other way. Its thier game, they run the show. Therefore, they win, if theres any way to actually win. Game over.

It's excellent imo, far better in many ways (again imo) than BF2, and I'm loving every minute of it :)

The lack of any real commander or a stats system is great, you now get to focus on playing the game for real fun, without the worry of getting a car dropped on you, or half your team playing for badges.

I would be more than happy to pay the PoE team for this mod.

I totaly agree, its much better atmosphere to play in, and I am loving this MOD. I always find a good MOD more fun than the original game, or at least, I have so far. Starting with DC of course.

Ahhh.... DC, now that's one mod I really miss, and a classic it was too, proof that a talented community team could make something better than paid devs.

It's the mods that will give BF2 life, not add-on packs from EA, as I'm sure we can pretty much agree that 2142 will kill off official support for #2

its all i play anymore, i almost throw up everytime i load vanilla because it doesnt even take 5 minutes before i see some newb crying wolf yelling "hacker" simply because he sucks and cant accept it. i dont miss that crap one bit, i welcome a place were good players are congragulated and respected. just remember, everytime you load vanilla kitten dies!!!!

PoE2 is a bit more vehicle heavy than I would like it to be (more vehicles, large distances between flags, less cover), but I still prefer it to vanilla BF2.

1) Better balance between classes.
2) Deviation for bullets has been significantly toned down. Rifles shoot straight, more-or-less.
3) Tons of different pick-ups and vehicles; huge amount of diversity in what you can do.
4) No more super powers for the commander. No scans, UAV, or instant artillery makes stealth and surprise attacks valid strategies. (Regretably, this means the commander has little to do other than command, which leaves the slot empty a lot of the time. Other players abuse the CO position just to give themselves crates and to use the commander screen to look for enemies and help aim player-controlled artillery.)

not having the US army - if i see another M1A2 tank or another M16 my head will explode.

Then you're going to be sorely disappointed when (if) the PoE devs add the US as a faction. :p

I've been splitting my time.

I know that's a fence sitting answer, but it's the truth.

At it's best in servers that I like, BF2 rivals if not surpasses POE2. Problem is, those are few and far between.

In general the gameplay in POE2 is better, by the simple virtue of how they designed it. Not a mistake by any means. It behoves you to join a squad, taking on everyone alone isn't really an option. Air Power at least has to watch their Ps and Qs to some extent. Although I have seen some dominant chopper pilots on certain maps.

I think this is the first time I've ever said this about a game (BF2). I love it for the graphics over POE2. It's not that POE2 has bad graphics, it's just that the maps and things in those maps are not nearly as visually stunning as in BF2.

POE2's scenery and graphics are dull and repetitive. That's not to say the maps are not ingenious and well layed out. It's just that they are dull looking compared to BF2. I still like BF2 when the game play is to my suiting, I would never choose BF2 over POE2 soley for it's superior graphics. But it is a factor. I think it's my new comp too, this one being closer to the cutting edge then previous ones I've built, it really takes advantage of the looks of BF2.

I play PoE quite a bit, but I still play BF2 more. The attack choppers in PoE suck. Giving the TV missle to the pilot, although realistic, takes away ALL the fun of being in a chopper crew. BF2 planes and choppers are more satisfying than PoE. But PoE owns BF2 infantry.

Point whores can make BF2 a lame expirence, I am a 1st Sgt. with around 42,000 points and I could really care less if If I make it to Sgt. Major or not...... Ranks really mean nothing once you have all the unlocks in vanilla BF2. I still play vanilla from time to time, however I think that POE2 is the best Mod out and a better all around gaming expirence. POE2 is eveything Vanilla BF2 should have been and..That infantry only map with downed Blackhawk in the center is epic.

How about play both, instead of continuing this totally useless battle of opinions.

Really though, all the bullsh*t about people who play vBF2 are only doing it for stats or ranks is just a stupid assertion. The majority of players I know only play for fun and the points are just there. Mybe you guys who are using this assertion played for points and feel bad about it.

What I really cant understand is why this lame topic was risen from the ashes of page 6. Its old and there are much better mods about to drop. Apocolpyse and Pirates are the only truly original mos in the pipe. Well, Battle Racer is pretty original, but this is supposed to be an FPS not a racer.
