Question about settings...

I see a lot of screenshots (mostly sniper scopes) that show incredibal detail from a long distance. What are the optimal settings for that, without cranking up EVERYTHING on the list? I have a good system, but don't want to crank up certain settings if it won't help much/at all.

AMD 64 X2 3800
1.5gb ram

check that site out scroll down to about middle when they get into video settings and you'll notice that on some high and medium theres almost no difference.
