All stats wiped?

Just saw this on bf2player.com:


2:35pm› <namewitheld> EA's agreement with Gamespy ends on October 1, and as EA will use their own EA membership service to log player records for BF2142, the BF2 gamespy service will terminate on this date, meaning all current BF2 ranked players will lose all playing records.
‹2:35pm› <namewitheld> The final BF2 patch release will be a new 1.4b patch, which will remove the log in screen function but as a small bonus will allow all bf2 players to have all unlock weapons ingame, hardly much reward for the hard work put in by the legions of let down bf2 fans

Yeah, there were several threads with the same (mis)information here the last few days. Just ignore it, as there are no offical sources.

This remains to be proven, but as with most myths, there is always a grain of truth. GameSpy's deal may well end with a whimper. Since day one, EA and GameSpy have had issues over compatibility. If you remember, we were supposed to be able to jump into a game through GameSpy like we did with BF42 and DC. We were supposed to be able to see our buddies online and launch into the same server, again just like we did with BF42 and DC. Well, this just never worked well and instead of trying to fix that, EA went after trying to fix the ingame browser. So, I can see the whole GameSpy part as possible.

Unlocks were listed on the changelog for 1.4, but they were listed as being available on UNRANKED servers (again). Not wholesale unlocks for everyone!

Stats, well, since GameSpy really only provided the collection and storage, EA could port that info into it's own system. I can't see stats wiped just because GameSpy won't be warehousing them anymore. BUT, the question that begs is WILL EA run parallell databanks or is that just going to be too much sugar for a nickel?

Fileplanet ign planetbattlefield gamespy all seem to have two things,

1.Part owned by EA just like dice.
2.In some contracts with EA.

Why bf2142 beta have a gamespy arcade in the setup?
Why recentrly bf2142 beta is only avaible for fileplanet?
