    PoE:2 Development Staff kindly ask..........

Since the release of PoE:2 there has been a large rash of EA/DICE haten statements that includes PoE:2 in the same sentence. On these boards and others, as well as our own. We can clean ours, but not others.
We respect everyones right to freedom of speech, and there own opinions.
    However..............

Im here to ask you, the communitty, to please refrain from putting PoE:2 and EA/DICE into the same sentence, that may slander either party.

1: Doesnt look good for starters, yourselves included
2: Nor does it reflect the attitudes or sentiments of the PoE:2 staff
3: There is many on our staff trying to get into the gaming industry, and these things dont look very professional.

That is all, carry on soldiers

Very good points. I know I personally have made a couple such comments and for that I humbly apologize.

EA/Dice has put together a great game with great content. If it was bad then there wouldn't be the number of people playing it that are and I wouldn't have spent the money myself. Including money for a Ranked server.

    Thanks EA/Dice

The POE:2 Team has put together a great mod that uses the assets provided by the BF2 Engine to create another reason to continue to play the game (Much to my Wife's dislike).

    Thanks POE:2 Team

Now let's go blow some stuff up!! :guns:

Wow bro. So you guys edit your threads and posts on your site to remove negative sentiments about EA|DICE from your fans?

I am a little shocked by that. Were all aware that many of the MOD teams do what they do to get jobs, and not just to give away free stuff, as some would believe. To think that someone wouldnt hire you based on other people thoughts, and not on your skill and personal attitude is a stretch IMO.

I dont diss EA\DICE, I see no point, but the whole big brother thing seems a little brown-noserish ( I know its not a word). Again, I agree with you on being insulting.

Well, once again I am impressed D_Fast. I completely agree that is serves no purpose to be rude, and complain. Constructive criticism is fine, but it gets way out of context too often. Most people are nothing more than band wagon complainers, lol.

I am glad you dont edit your threads or posts, I was getting nervous there about joining your forums, lol.

I am not going to sit on a forum dedicated to a game, just to insult it.

What exactly are you reffering to with the term "Mess"?

This is in response to number 3. Goodluck in this but be warned it is not the industry you think it is.

I have been in the industry since 1982 and trust me it is th ebiggest nightmare ever. Back in the 80's and early 90's it was good. Small indipendant teams working on titles which were small and fun.

Since large companies like EA started buying up teh smaller companies and games became 3 year projects etc it has proven to be a nightmare. Contracts terminated, games canned after 2 years of development, payments not being made by publishers, etc etc. Even working for the larger software houses you end up not having a life for small rewards.

I got fed up with the whole thing in mid - late 90's and moved over to net software. This did however end in a bigger mistake as I ended up with microsoft lol what a joke

Anyway to my point...I am now back in the industry but working on smaller projects. Video games for gambling machines...Look at your quiz machine on the ITbox in your local bar or the little skill games on them. Pays better money, less hours and you dont get that project you have been working on for 2 years canned. Nothing worse than not being allowed to write what you want.

As a gamer and a games programmer I find I want to make games I enjoy to play. As a mod team you are doing that exact thing. When you join the rat race of the games industry you no longer have that pleasure. The deadlines and presure from publishers stop that freedom of creativity.

Do yourselves a favour and look more into smaller games development as a carreer and forget about the big games studios...

                  Just my feelings from experience..

And as a footnote if any of you guys live in the uk and are interested we are currently looking for artists / programmers in the Birmingham area. PM me if you got what it takes.

Re: PoE:2 Development Staff kindly ask..........

The POE Mod has provided for me one brief moment in the sun in a otherwise cloudy retail game this year in 2006.

That alone is worth all the pain and heartache crossing the wilderness trying to find the one thing that makes BF2 works.

Yes I am engaged in debating a situation with the artillery on these forums but POE has done everything to reinforce my shaken faith that out there, somewhere there are developers making games as they should be played.

Not what a large house like EA or DICE dictates it should be done. I cannot help but point to the server fix for the 1.4 yesterday. POE found, fixed and issued the hotfix within hours which I thought was something worthy of praise.

And it took 3 months for EA and DICE? I myself dont understand such big retail gaming houses anymore and they were once the publisher of choice thirty years ago for quality non-nerfted game products.

I dont know anything about the developers working the making of games. I took a college course learning Maya and One other program for a few weeks in a moment of delusional thinking that somehow I could write games. WRONG. I did learn how to make a camera view "Fly" and that is enough for me.

Such talent and dreams of what can be done in games shine in illuminating glory and brilliance in a otherwise grey and drab ghetto gated and locked down by a hard fisted tyrant determined to squeeze the last drop of profits out of a ignorant population of gamers.

Keep on rocking and rolling POE!

This seems a bit hypocrite from poe to me.

How Ironic ... to bend over to get into the industry, only to never again have the freedom the make a good finished product -as they have proven they can- again. I understand earning a living is more important, but still

                      To clarify:
No, there is no excuse for pure foulmouthyness, but nothing is wrong with a good rant.
People that say others are whining....don't have to read the threads in there first place - stop whining about the whining.

My understanding is that there was nothing to fix bro. It was a mod friendly patch, and thats why it hasnt been an issue for anyone to fix. Not to continue the hijack, but it was nothing should have taken more than a few hours to begin with.

Kiss butt all you want, EA nor DICE will not be picking up this team. I saw it in my crystal ball, and shall bet cash, lol.

I dont care if EA or DICE picks up POE or not. EA has lost it's vision of quality game products and proven themselves slow and laggy with support, updates and problems with things like the EA Downloader. DICE obviously broke up the orginal team that built BF2 and other people continue to fat finger the game into oblivion.

That is why MODS like POE are gaining acceptance while the great ship titanic sinks under the weight of it's own errors.

                              I really like it.

The maps are well thought out and large and are also well-suited for SP/Co-Op. MP is really a blast to play.

The tanks handle very nicely and feel great, especially the acceleration and suspension. The aiming reticle takes a bit of getting used to and could use some contrast, especially against bright skies.

                              Love the German attack chopper.

Love the vehicle sounds. They sound very authentic. The ambient sounds are very well done and well placed.

AT rockets don't take out tanks very well, but the bots use them very effectively. I may not be hitting the soft spots well.

As I said elsewhere, the bots cheat. One actually killed me with a Katana.

Love all the new buildings and the new skies. They really help add to the variety and immersion.

Arty is taking some getting used to (Support for bot arty?). Com rose too. Lack of UAV really makes it interesting and forces others to spot more.

                              Very well done. Very.

Just finished playing all the SPmaps and I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me until I flew the Tornado and saw the wings open and close when it increased speed. Was doing it for the bots too. Really impressed with that. :)
