    Imperial Productions Official Review: PoE2

This is my first review for a game or mod, so go easy on me

I absolutely loved this mod, it seemed as if it was what Battlefield 2 should have been, first of all, the spawn screen is beautiful, compared to the spawn screen on BF2 which is just the same pastie colors as the TotalBF2 forum skin (sorry Total), and I loved the weapons, especially the Vepr, Another thing is the APCs, they have more vehicle positions than the vanilla APCs, plus they actually are used to carry personell, the APCs in PoE2 do not have any weapons in the driver position, but there are positions in the passenger section, which incourages people to use teamwork, plus the machine guns in the APC are more realistic, comared to the invisible MGs on all the vanilla APCs

The game actually runs better than regular BF2, not as much lag, but there are a few things I didn't like, for example, the graphics on the buildings look like the graphics from Counter-Strike, but the weapons are way better, and I didn't really like the loading icon, they need to inprove the shadow effects, but its their first release

I loved the music, it sounds like some sort of orcestra playing, and I loved the intro movie, except if you wanna make the movie match the realism of the game, you should cut out some things in the video that are unrealistic, like blowing up a tank and someone flys out, or when the chopper attacked the Machine guns with rockets, and the soldiers just slumped over in the machine guns, I would fix that in the mod

And I loved the voiceovers, usually in mods they either have crappy maps or no proper voiceovers in the specific language

Overall for the first release of this game, I give it a 9.5/10

Agreed 100%. This mod sets new standards the way FH did for bf1942.

Yea I mean the PoE2 team could teach EA and DICE a few things, like for example:

TEST AND TEST AND TEST BEFORE YOU RELEASE IT

      lol

Grade your review? thats a first I think. Normally you want people to respond about the topic.

Your review was a normal thread post, so I didnt give very high marks. I like this mod more and more as I play it, but I have to totaly disagree about the music. It seems really boring to me, no life IMO, and doesnt make me feel like I am preparing for battle. Then again, I think the whole string pads with a loop is played out, big time played out. I expect it from WW2 style MODs (since they are set in the past, Modern music wouldnt make sense), but modern combat stuff should go deeper, and be mixed better. It sounds amateur.

I love the weapons. Some are very accurate and deadly, but I found the support machine gun to be useless in many cases. The Assault rifles are better at close, medium, and long range for me. The models are friggin gorgeous to look at, no doubt about that.

I like the new Stattics that you can enter and hide in near the flags. It reminds me of DC style play, which I thank the POE team for.

My review of the game is an 8 out of 10.

My review of you review is a 5.5 out of 10.

Whats your review of my review reviewing your review?

P>S> DICE did test and test and test BF2. If people are going to compare tweaking the look and a little of the feel of a game to building an engine from the ground up, well then it just doesnt make sense. You cant imagine what building a game and physics engine involves. None of the MOD teams could even come close to that. Soon, engines will be developed and sold to large numbers of game makers. Its already happening. Building a new engine is a million times more expensive and difficult than developing the shell on top of it.

Oh one thing that made it a 9.5 and not a 10:

That repetitive texture, I cannot stand those like in some games

Hm, I don't really notice it that much. What settings are you running (from the looks of it low...)

Tell me the map and the name of that spawn point and I'll show you what it looks like on all high 4xAA.

                PS. Good luck here.

It is the Grain Elevator on that map with the farms and the time of day is dawn or something, I forget the name, I can't go on and check because I keep lagging out, crashing, bluescreening, ect

Well there's 13 maps and I'm not that familiar with them, but I can assure you that the repeating texture is based on your low settings. At higher settings I really doubt theres a pattern thats distinguishable.

Wow, hey, my 'friends' Jofaba and StealthC are here too, cool

But I will find the name of it, but its cool how you can destroy a tank with only a few rockets as apposed to like 10 in BF2, and like it felt like a movie when we all were defending the Grain Elevator from all the germans, it was our only spawn point left, and if there were more tickets, we could successfully push them back and win the day!

Xaritix, circumventing bans is against the rules. As soon as you make a post relating to Paris Hilton, Im gonna report your *** to get banned....again.

And the Missle system is still similar to bf2. 2 to the rear, three in the front etc etc
