    In BF2, Cheaters Proudly Prosper

I was actually shocked to learn that there is a site on the net that is proudly showing & selling cheats for numerous games. I have always thought that these cheats & hacks were kept “underground” and only shared with a small group, I was wrong. I can actually go to this site & purchase BF2 & other game cheats & hacks. What can the community & developers do with these types of sites? I stopped playing Vanilla BF2 a long time ago I only play PRMM & POE Mods now but still these cheats can easily enter those games as well. I guess we can only hope that the majority of our community does not use these cheats.

BTW: I'm not giving out the name of the site but I'm sure TONS of people in the community are aware of it.

that article seems to talk most about console games and single-player cheats.

That's a little less detestible than multiplayer cheats that ruin other people's day.

If I cheat in Contra, im a cheater.

If I cheat in BF2 or CS, im a griefer.

Yes, cheating in online games is an ENTIRELY different matter.

      Offline cheaters are lazy.
      Online cheaters are scumbags.

Unfortunately, there will always be cheaters. They will never go away. The programs out there like PunkBuster and PunksBusted are always trying to stay ahead of the game, but since cheaters have more time on their hands than any organized effort to thwart them, the cheaters usually stay ahead.

The only recourse anyone has against cheaters is to document, ban and report. IF the server community would use the Universal Ban list, then cheaters would eventually find fewer and fewer arenas to ply their hacks. The only hope is that the cheaters will move away from BF2 when the next big thing comes out.

BUT, as long as BF2 has support for the rank system, people will seek the shortcuts to advancement. The hard core hacker/cheat will move on to the new titles because they don't do it for the rank, they do it to show their hacking skills and to ruin other player's gaming experience.

I think cheaters are the most pathetic people in the world. They fail at life so they have to make up for it in video games. Actually, pathetic doesn't even come close to describing these useless people.

QFT. Offline cheating is just making your own "super easy level" as one guy put it. But in online gaming, you want a level playing field where time and skill pay off, not a quick, cheap, easy hack.

I hate it when people justify using cheats because they "just don't have the time to really figure the game out and want a fair chance anyways". Honestly, what a horrible attitude. Do you see regular everyday people (pilots, secretaries, teachers, etc) pumping up on drugs to go and compete in professional sports on an occasional nonchalant basis?

My fear is the prevalance of offline cheating sets the stage for when people go online. They don't realize there is in fact a difference. For me, cheating is horrible, no matter where you do it. My nephew LOVES to cheat in games. I refuse to ever condone it. I continually tell him how horrible he is for doing it in hopes he will learn one day. He is slowly coming around to the realization it's bad... If only every parent/friend encouraged people to be proud of what they can do and not just turn to the quick and easy hack we might be better off. Honestly, as with most things in life, I blame the parents.

Really if people need to cheat because they suck at the game and are not willing to improve they should be shot. Fact is I always though of cheating online as raging people in the server. But if people need to use cheats such as an wallhack just because they suck at the game and/or want to be seen as good really need to /unninstall life.

Not all gamers cheat. Many people do not find cheating in games enjoyable. In fact, what's the point of playing a game? What's the point of watching a movie? Why don't you just cheat or fast forward your way to the end?

It baffles me that some people find it more enjoyable to cheat their way through a game, rather than playing it as it was intended. Don't they realize that it's 'weak' to cheat? Cheating is basically admitting that you are not good enough.

Now online cheaters, they are the assholes you find in all walks of life. They are the types that steal from stores, cheat on SATs, beef up their resumes to get a job, etc. Unfortunately some will get away with it for their entire lives, cheating on their wife, cheating here, cheating there. All we can do is hope that one day they will pay dearly for it.

I play online soccer game that tracks records and ranks the players (WE9). As you probably guessed, there are cheaters there as well. How do they cheat? They lag you out by starting some big uploads during their half hosting. Each player becomes the host for one half of the game. Is it really important to win a damn soccer game by lagging your opponent out? Yes, I learned to never overestimate the thought-process and the values of people. Life lesson learned from online games.

In fact it was his son who fell in love with the mom and the mom also loved the son very much. So they shot the guy in the face with a 120mm cannon. Yep, all is fair in love and war.
