    Battlefield 2 "Record" Tied W/CD-Key

Hey everyone, I have a question. I moved into a new Dorms and forgot my CD-Key at home and need to reinstall BF2. If I do buy a brand new copy of BF2, will my "record" (aka, Rank, Kills, Stats basically) be able to transfer over? Because I am trying to reinstall BF2 for my computer and that's it. If i use my origional IGN registered account info will i be able to resume my BF2 "record"?

Your account is NOT tied to one particular CD-key.

So if you buy a new copy, you can simply 'Retrieve' your account at the BF2 login screen and play as usual on your new copy.

This is great because if you happen to be over at a friend's house, you can play your BF2 account on his computer without having to remember you long and convoluted CD key

isnt that the cause of the cd key invalid bug?

If you create a new WINDOWS account and try to play on that, then yeah..you'll have problems.

But you can play your account on BF2 on any Windows machine so long as that machine is logged in using the Windows account that it was installed under.

Or low tech solution. Call your house and have mom/dad/brother/roommate read you your BF2 Key and save yourself $30.00. Unless you have a need for that second key.

yeah it's all on your account not your CD key.

Although i wish there was a way to retrieve cd keys, i had a PC die on me and now i have to shell out $20 for halo again, but now halo is so old and i don't think it's worth the $20 i'd rather use that money to preorder 2142.

You can attach CD keys to your EA account now...so you will never lose them. EA will store them for you with your EA Account if you forget them.

Unfortunately most of the people who didn't put their key in a safe place and/or make a copy of it probably won't bother to use this service either. Or they'll lose their EA login information. Nice idea though.
