I notice people saying they put 2xAA on and things like that, but what exactly is AA?

Ant Aliasing it removed the jagged edge from objects but ir uses up a lot more computing power. Look it up in the wiki if you want an in depth explanation.

It can also mean Anti-Aircraft. Common sense can be used to see whether someone is talking about Anti-Aliasing and Anti-Aircraft.

i believe AA removes the jagged edges by taking that area and making it a bit more high res/blurry so i think in some cases if u put on too much AA, itll be too blurry

AA can mean a lot of things, Armed Assault, Americas Army, Allied Alliance etc. Most commonly used in Bf2 is Anti-Aliasing and Anti-Aircraft.

Read what he asked he was talking about 2xAA theres only one thing that you talk about as *xAA which is Anti Aliasing

Anti-Aliasing, What it does is in its simplist form = Removes the jagged edges on walls and other objects in game

So in closing it makes it look better at a performance penalty...depending on the Video Card you have you might not notice it..or you'll get crippled. so try it, if it runs like crap turn it off or lower other settings to compensate
