VOIP Problem: Can't stand it any longer

Ok, ever since I got my new computer (about 4 months) I have not been able to use my VOIP on BF2. I have searched old posts, looked on google, everywhere. I have gone through 3 head-sets and still cannot get it to work. (My mic works for Ventrillo and Teamspeak)

I have a D975XBX intel motherboard with an integrated sound card (the best one intel makes currently). I mean this thing doesn't sound like a regular integrated soundcard, it's great. My friends all ask "Woah what kind of sound card do you have" and I say it's integrated and they're like "wtf?"

So today I decided to go out and buy a new sound card (Soundblaster Audigy 4) JUST FOR BF2. I put it in and yay my VOIP works! The thing is, this card sucks compared to my integrated one...a lot. So I took it out and decided to stick with my integrated one.

I really need help here, I have tried almost everything. Any help to get my VOIP up?

Try submitting a ticket to EA:

Or contacting Intel...maybe they have some message forums and a BF2 gamer has figured it out.

Obviously it's an incompatibility between your on-board sound and BF2. You have solved your problem by using another card...

an onboard sounds better than an audigy 4? hmm........

I think he was just used to the sound of the onboard and the Audigy 4 just sounded different.

I went through that phase every time I upgraded my sound card...but after a while, you realize the new card is much better.

Also, playing with the audio options, EQ, and speaker settings/position to match your new card can make ALL the difference in the world.

maybe u could sell your audigy 4 and get yourself an x-fi. definitely sounds better than all of them. :)
