One of the most successful and least used tactics in the game is jet jumping. I catch crap for it all the time.

When you start out on the carrier on Wake and grab the jet, form a squad, fly well above the action and bail over the airfield, the other guys spawn on you when your feet touch the ground, and the flags taken in seconds. If no one has grabbed it yet, the tank is usually sitting there so you can hop in and you can pull into the flag radius while having range to fire on and take out the attack chopper on the pad and the J10 if it spawns. This quick attack usually takes the enemy by surprise and works 90% of the time if you have a working squad.

Dragon Valley, hop in a jet on the carrier, form the squad, fly well above until your over the plant at the back flag and when you hit the ground, your squad spawns. You grab the tank and the APC out of the building and rush the flag. The third person grabs the other APC to the side of the flag and you now have all the armor and take the flag. If one of you heads to the airstrip, you can take out both J10's and the attack chopper before they get off the ground.

Pretty much any map that has jets on it can have this tactic applied to it. If you have a group of guys you play with frequently, you can develop a stunning attack scenario using this method. Since only a few people use it, it almost always works without problems.

Now for those who will whine that they could not "pwn" everyone from the sky because another player took their precious jet and used it as transport, tell them to quit whining and enjoy the win your going to give them. Tactics like this are neither cheap nor abusive and if used properly can almost always guarantee you have a main enemy flag to convert for your team and eliminate any air threat they may have posed.

        Re: No Teamwork

I agree with the lack of teamwork ranting going on here completely. I always (after my first 90 or so hours when I was a noob) am in a squad. Most of the time I will form a squad and carry out orders or I will form a squad the invite people and then leave and do this again. That way I create squads full of people all across the team, Then I will rejoin one of my old squads that I created and use the Sl as a spawn point. So whether I am making squads or leading them, i am almost always in a squad. However sadly I feel myself to be compelled to teamswitch TO the losing team. This sounds dumb but I like to try and turn things around.... and it almost always works. I almost always join the losing team, so my W/L would look terrible right, like 10% but it is 81 or 82%, mainly because of not my uber 1337 skills but because of the teamwork that I bring to the team.

          Re: No Teamwork

The problem is not the amount of possibilities, but of people joining the group.

Face it, people like camping the carrier, people want badges, and more then anything: They think its easy to get big scores in choppers/jets, without understanding that there are houndreds of hours behind these skillevels.

Get people to understand the value of singelplayer (chopper), and local server for jets.

Man on the money dude. I always do this (Im usually first or second in the server) Grab a plane, fly to a remote base and cap away. Hopefully people join my sqaud right off and get in there as well (Though we all know that scenario) . I always gt bitched at for it but I always get that base. Its like some would rather you sit on the carrier and get spawn raped.

vBF2 whilst having a lot larger population lacks squads, and the squads that do exists as you have already said do not follow orders and are spread out across the map in no way working together (Rambo Squads).

PoE frankly is the complete opposite, although the population generally speaks a different language (finding it hard to find a UK based PoE server) teamwork is paramount especially in maps such as Fallen.
The point system actually ruined the game! Look at all the point whores! Jumping all over the map and killing everyone as if it's team deathmatch.
People would pay attention to capping flags if there is no such thing as ranked servers or point system.

I do but then I would usually be killed by Arty or someone in a Jet bombing the area, all depends on the enemy team.

                    Re: No Teamwork

As long as this game is about ticketbleed, that be flags or frags. Then there really arent much else to expect.

If squadleaders stay out of the concentrated collection of potential arty-frags, then much would look different. This issue is maybe biggest on Wake, where all jetwhores, heliwhores, and "cow-airborne-raping-arty-island-special-troopers" is to choose as main spawn.

When one enemy makes to whiten the flag after US have taken over the airfield, ist not few times Ive seen arty taking out all the US-players, and one singel man capping the flag like a half minute after the arty-strike. And, this is even with the arty next to the flag, still many people cant figure out where it will hit.
