How do i unlock the 2nd sniper rifle?

i just hit a new rank and got to choose my new unlock i was really excited because i thought i could unlock the L96A1 but i was wrong! So what do i have to do to get this weapon?

Yup, he's/She's:) right. either buy it or get a friend or someone to play 1 round as you in spec forces and you'll get the unlock

But, you also have to unlock the first sniper rifle first. Then you can get the SF unlock

sowait i have to go and buy special forces just to get that gun? can i have my friend go on my account on his computer and play it for me and than i will be able to use it/unlock it?

Okay I'm in the same spot (sort of) as this dude... I just purchased SF and started playing a few rounds now. I was told you get like 2 free unlocks for the purchase of SF or something like that? Cuz i'm really far from my next rank and can't wait that long to get the L9!

I just bought SF, and was surprised to suddenly get four unlocks at the end of my first round (I just made Staff sgt in Vanilla).

It's like Christmas in September!

The following weapons are only available to SF players:

SpecOps: SCAR-L
Sniper: L96A1
Assault: FN F2000
Support: MG36
Engineer: MP7
Medic: G36E
AT: P90

As stated previously, as soon as you complete a round of SF you should be able to unlock these weapons.

Why do you guys want the L96A1 so much?

The M24 is the best sniper in the game..

The L96A1 may have thinner crosshairs, but it isn't accurate at all.. there is SO much bullet drop it's not even funny.

really? i thought that all the sniper rifles had the exact same amount of bullet drop? and, the noise is less of a bang so that no one can find u most the time. but is it true that it has more bullet drop, or is DICE just saying that. i need an answer from someone who play sniper a lot and has the L96 unlocked.

No I am saying that from personal experience..

If you go for a headshot on someone that is sitting still, at 100m, and aim DIRECTLY at their head, you will not get the headshot with the L96A1, but you will with the M24.
