    any tips

    what would people recommend i do to optimize my system for BF2 as im expectin it tomorrow in the mail and want it to run well

    athlon 2800mhz
    ati radeon 9600 256mb
    1gb ram

    Not much dude... I do not pretend to be a hardware expert, but don't expect extreme performance. I guess you would run at Medium at average fps, even lower, 2 minuts for the loading time, etc.

    Don't get this as guaranteed, just wanted to reduce your expectation a bit so you wouldn't be much disappointed :)

      First all fault you have a SUCKY graphic card so you might run low/med will lag still you'll lag 32 64...so if you want run 64 good put it all low...get more ram 2gb recommand for high setting but video card eeh bad card get geforce 6200gt or more I have geforce 6200gt running high 4xaa... and yes processor awful bad get 3100+ for fast loading like 30sec my is Amd 64 x2 4400+ 3.6ghz I get 20sec loading 10sec client...

        my rig has a 4400 x2 and 2 gigs dual channel ram with a 6800gt and i get like 20 (same server swap map) or 55 (new server, new map) seconds

          First of all, loading times depends on the ram, not the CPU.
          The CPU handels the AI etc.
          I own a x2 4400+ with 1GB ram and the loading time takes 1 min as well as the verification part.
          I guess even an overkill of (say) 4gb ram won't make the loading + verification times less than 40 secs, in this case than problem is in the programming, not the hardware.
