what bf2 expansion would people recommend i buy? special forces is a bit more pricy than the other 2 but is it worth it? or are the other 2 add ons better value?

SF is an expansion with new weapons and maps and runs just like a mod does. The maps here are run seperate from the basic bf2 (vanilla) so you cannot cycle the vanilla maps and SF maps together. You need to restart the game to go from vanilla BF2 to SF and back again.

AF and EF are booster packs which are just extra maps that run on the vanilla BF2 game. These maps can be cycled with the vanilla maps, no need for game restarts.

AF is fun, lots of tanks and it has bombers included.

EF, well, I am no a proponate for EF, I think it was a waste of $10.

SF, is like a new game. The new unlocks that you get (tier2 weapons) are available to be used in the basic BF2 maps also. Included with the weapons are a zipline and grappling hook, though these cannot be used on any basic maps, only SF maps.

If you can find SF for about $20 in the computer store, it is well worth it. I would not pay full price as you would with the EAD.

Boosters, the AF maps are played along with the vanilla maps on a lot of servers. EF maps are getting hard to find.

My teams plays SF 90% of the time. When we do play vanilla BF2, we include the AF maps in the mapcycle.

Both EF ( Euro Forces ) and AF ( Armoured Fury ) are GREAT, don't get me wrong, not that many people playing it , at least EF, you won't find a lot of servers with that pack anymore. AF is still played, but I think it will die as soon as POE2 ( Point of Existence ) comes out, which is a FREE BF2 MOD released this Saturday.

Special Forces might actually be the one I will still play after POE2 comes out. I actually played more SF than regular bf2. So I guess it's also up to you, we can't really decide in your place :p

SF adds the most out of the three, so if you can get it cheap then I'd advise it.

poe2 IS A FREE mod CREATED by some people who are just amaizing, they made it better than bf2 in my oppinion, or at least people at EA/DICE had no idea how to do it. Anyways, t`s free and you can go here: www.pointofexistence.com and get more details, and you`ll also have pics from the mod there too.

BF:V = Battlefield Vietnam, was second of the series if I`m not wrong ... BF1942 was the first and BF2 the third.
