Or for everybody who gets banned by punkbuster/something, they get sued for a decent amount of money. That would make h4x0ring in a game not worth it IMHO.

Come on now... I'm not sure the idea proposed would help but don't deny the fact that cheaters are out there!!

I'm sure we've all seen people who have been "Extra Lucky" somehow!!

It's hard to tell if it's a cheat, lag or some EA strangeness built into the game but it's there!

It's one thing to get owned by someone better (I have been) but I've also seen some very weird things too.

I don't know how you can tell if someone's actually cheating or exploiting so I don't accuse. I've wondered about several people though who seemed "unkillable" or able to disappear etc... at the best time for them.

I really love the connection problems of 1.3 though for getting wasted...nothing like being stuck in pause so someone can kill you for free. Thanks EA

The only thing that would stop Hackers/cheaters/Idiots, is if they would come out with an Alias Finder that gives Home Addresses instead of IP addresses.

You cannot just turn yourself invisible or toggle on god mode. It doesnt work like that.

In the older games where the info about your player was stored on YOUR pc (No t the server) you could edit how much ammo/health you had. I doubt EA are that stupid.

I might actually help you with that. Start the game, go to Option, Audio and switch from Software to Hardware. You shouldn`t have the "pauses" anymore, let me know if it worked or not ...

hacks are a big prob in bf2, u know why?

2 reasons:

1. they are so easy to find that its scary

2. people dont seem to care just to make others think "wow he is so good he doesnt even notices cheats in the game" (btw that doesnt work)

i wouldnt be surprised if there are alredy cheats being finished for bf2142.

the only way to fight this? none except getting control of the world and create a dictatorship that controls everyone computers and tells you who is cheating or not.

of course that cheaters have to live with the fact that they suck and need cheats to get points in bf2.

Unfortunatelly there are clans ONLY doing that ... coming out with new hacks/exploits to different games and their numbers is increasing . Some people, use their skill better = POE2 and other mods, but then again some are just not mature enough to focus on doing something good ...

I came across a lot of clans ( teams ) that were just creating hacks/exploits/etc. etc. I guess some people just need to grow-up ... :|: and put their work and skill to something better ...

The clans that do use these cheats will never get caught unless they go into a different server that has PB streamed. Things i look for in hacks in servers are clan members kicking players with high scores and accuse of using hack , To me says there using a hack and if someone else is beating them they must be using that too of which is crap by the way. watching them in ghost mode. if your on there side and there isnt uav and they are acting as though they know whats round the corner. yep there using something.

To be truthfull i cant see how we can beat them. unless as this guy suggested and patch every week. Or a program that allows public to take there own screenshots without having admin status on a server. (dont think thats ever going to be achieved) we need more admin streamed servers . Leagues and ladders need to stream there matches. Needs more community work but will it ever happen.

on pb streamed servers yes but i aproached pb and asked them how to find out if i a clan i know are hacking , this included the owner of the clan and others, my reply i got from PB was as follow.

Regretably, everything you can do is down to those who have access to the server itself, the main server admins.

For example, those of us here at PsB, have added to the "out of the box" PB installation ith additional MD5 checks and we stream the PB logs to our central database. All this enables us to share bans for PB violations.

If a clan leader, or server admin is involved in cheating itself, then there is very little else you can do within that group as they will simply not agree to any greater use of anti-cheat tools and techniques, knowing they will get caught themselves.

Without access to the server you can't even get ahold of pb screenshots to expose the clan leadership.

Short of getting them to play on aother PsB members server and get them caught that way I'm not sure what to suggest, but even then it won't necessarily stop them playing on their own server

I know punkbuster do there best and catch many cheats and i am very thankfull for them but as regards to clans running servers with PB switched on of which this clan i know do have can get away with there stupid activity and uknown public are going into the servers and being kicked for being better than them and being accused of hacking .

How i know some of a clan is hacking you ask, because a member of there clan told me in confidence and is annoyed and confused on what to do. as i advised him to take it to pb but as the e-mail sent to me the leader wont do it , will he.

My other advice was to leave.

Now these guys are family men and are in there 30s , there is only 2 i know of in this clan that im not naming that is using these cheats but how many others are out there that we dont know .

It is frustrating to hear about all the different clans/groups supposedly dedicated to developing game cheats. It sometimes makes you think twice about 'good' players who seem to be invinciable in-game, wondering if you are playing on a level field.
I would suggest using capitalism to help stop the hackers. If the game companies offered a prize to any computer guy who could develope a fool-proof anti-hack program...they get the cash...million bucks, maybe two?
That would put a LOT more recourses on the case than ever before and may actualy give us something that works.
Maybe a stupid idea, but there are a lot of smart computer types out there and you never know what hasnt been thought of yet to counter the hackers.
