Ive gotten logged into Battlefield 2 once, and at that one time, it kept saying when I joined a game that It wont allow people who have edited there game to join the map. Well, I havent edited anything, I had just installed BF2 and SF, and the latest patch from bf2 site. So I go ok, I restart the game again and then it gets stuck at the login screen forever until I have to do Ctrl Alt Delete and its Not responding. So then Im like grr ok, and I go to Firefox and nothing will load, and everyone in the house loses the internet too, but instant messengers stay on. Im so confused, and every time I try to connect to BF2 I have to restart my Modem and Router. Whats going on? >.<

But that isnt the problem, the problem is, every time I try to login on BF2, name pass ect, it will not respond and my internet will freeze up. Reinstalling BF2 did not help.

Re: BF2 Causes Router to.... Crash?
I would check you machine for viruses, rootkits, and spyware.
Something is causing your problem but I doubt that it is BF2, otherwise you would see a lot of other people also complaining of the same thing.
Run an online virus check
Run Spybot S&D
Run RootkitRevealer
You may even want to run ewidoComment

Re: BF2 Causes Router to.... Crash?
i redownlaoded patch, reinstalled bf2 and sf, checked virus scanner, spyware, no viruses, hijackthis found nothing either. And still the same, when I connect it just gets stuck then screwed up my internet. No other game does this, like counterstrike dod, hl2dm, wc3, ut2004 ect alot of online games, they work fine except Battlefield 2.Comment

Re: BF2 Causes Router to.... Crash?
not sure what you mena about firmware, I just bought a linksys router two weeks ago, i have a firewall but its set to allow bf2. I just tested it agian, and it would say connecting to server account or w/e and I came back 5 mins later and had to ctrl alt delete again, and its not responding then I end it and it makes a noise repeat for 10 seconds and then itnenret is dead. I dont get it, I got logged in once before.
I might have to call my intenret company, but I dont see how it could be the internet when every other game works.Comment

Re: BF2 Causes Router to.... Crash?
crackerjack how do I do that?
Nascarnick, it still does it with just the modem by itself, I guess I just wont be able to play BF2. It isnt anything hardware related on my pc, maybe its somethign to do with the crappy patches I dunno. Every other game works fine. I checked the firewall again to make sure, and it was allowing BF2 so that wasnt a problem.Comment
