i think it was something like this

            500 pfc
            1500 lance corporal
            10000 corporal
            25000 seargent
            50000 staff seargent
            75000 gunnery seargent
            150000 first seargent
            250000 seargent major

that is what i think it was anyway

Yeah, I know it was high, because I remember getting the G36C pretty quickly, and then it taking forever to get the DAO. Then the patch and logged in to find 3 new unlocks waiting for me. My guess is Dice has done their homework on the advancement side of things this time around. Just study WoW.

Give you a bunch of stuff early and gradually decrease it until you go months without a reward.

I remember the interview about that. They said they based the rank system off of the idea that 1942 had been around for 4+ years, going strong and that the ammount of points people would have made was relative to what the rank system was based off of. So they realized later that it was not going to work, so they modified it.

Now, in hind-sight, you can see that DiCE intended BF2 to last a lot longer then 16 months. They might have not had 2142 taped out yet.

Everyone still is a lance corporal. I'm seeing alot of low ranks these days, way out numbering sergeant majors or 2nd lieutenants.

Ya, you notice that too? I am wondering if there are a lot of new players, or just new accounts.

I think people are just starting new accounts, some of the lower ranked Corporals and Sargeants play like higher ranked people. However I do believe people are buying this game for the first time. Prices are down on the game AND the hardware to play it.

I never judge a player by rank anymore, nor do I underestimate them.
