Tried to patch, now Im screwed.

I finally reinstalled BF2 after a break of 2 months. I got the patch online from download.com v1.3. When I run it and it is downloading the files it says Error in Patching. It then says Patching has finished even though the error came up. When I double-click BF2 the screen turns black like it's about to open but then it just goes back to the desktop. Help please!

This sucks man. It was able to play on the old version but as soon as I tried to update I can't get in.

Oh, I'm at school and the colors are distorted so I didn't even notice the link. I'll try that, thanks.

Apparently it says the Patching Error message is because I don't have enough space but I do. Or corrupt patch files. Im going to try downloading a diff. patch file and see if it works.

I had to delete the game manually and I am installing it again now.

I refuse to patch untill they come out with v1.4

Ah, I really don't feel like doing that... So you're going to play the old version until 1.4? When does 1.4 come out?

The old isn't that bad, it's just a bit out dated.

I rather play that then not at all.

Also, it is really easy to do it manually.

After researching on the boards some I finally got the game to patch 1.3 correctly. I had to delete and uninstall everything BF2 related. I then opened up my case, pulled my RAM out and put it back in. After reinstallation, it patched fine.

There isn't even a confirmation when it's coming out. And it only takes 5 mins to pull out your RAM and put it back in, well unless you're computer illiterate.

Just out of curiosity, as someone who works in IT Support, why the hell would you want to take out and put back in your RAM?! Even if you are computer literate, it's a dum idea considering the problem...

I don't know what the correlation between the two is but I researched it and found out it worked for several people. I tried it, and bam it works now. So you tell me.
