they sure dont stop you from buying them, playing them, and posting in forums about them.

The current state of affairs in BF2 is "Status Quo". Standard Operating Procedure. Until we prove, with our wallets, that their behavior is unacceptable, they have no inspiration to change it.

That being said, I dont think things are as bad as many EA/Dice detractors would have us believe... could it be better? Sure... but couldnt we all?

Actually I think your idea sounds fun though. Anyone remember the great game Heretic? It was an FPS without guns. Great graphics too...

                  Re: Battlefield 1542

mmmmm ... I remember having just such a thread in our clan forum last November or so. This was more pre-gunpowder. Battering rams, scorpions, ballista, trebuchet, knights, archers, shamans/sharlatans/witches for healing, cataphracts etc. I wonder how difficult would this be for the guys at DICE to pull off?

It would be cool though ... maybe Pirates2 will satisfy that desire a bit.

Actually what comes to mind with this is a poll on EA's Battlefied page, where you could vote what the next BF would be the options were along the lines: future, medieval, WWI, WWII, modern ... maybe something else too. I just started to woneder if this was done for the next BF (after 2142). I think the future style got the max votes but I believe that at that time they were very hard at work with the BF2142 already.

Thats a great idea. Smacktards dont have to teamkill anymore, they can kill horses, or cows.

Come on now guys. Medieval times would be from about 1066 (battle of Hastings) up til about the 1200's and early 1300's. Just about anything in the 1350's and up is boarderline because gunpowder came along and ruined the need for expensive armor. Stick to the 11th and 12th centuries and you could have a ball!

And why has nobody mentioned the Fast Attack Shock Troops... The Cavalry!! Knights on large war horses streaming through lines of foot soldiers with chain flails flying !!! Rarrrrrrrrrr !

K, well then how about Battlefield 3: Renaissance or Battlefield: 1337 which just so happens to be the start date of the Hundred Years War, a conflict that lasted 116 years.

Of course they should include the unit called Suicide Squad. Their objective would be to run to the heaviest concentration of enemies and then effectively stab themselves.
